HOW ARE WE HIS?
By His sovereign choice! He chose us and set His love upon us. This He did altogether apart from any goodness on our part at the time, or even any goodness that He foresaw in us at the time. We are not only His by choice, but by purchase! He has bought and paid for us to the utmost farthing; not with silver and gold, but with the precious blood of the Lord Jesus Christ. There is a blood mark upon all those who believe, invisible to the human eye, but known to Christ for "the Lord knoweth them that are His."
WOULD A CHRISTIAN SEEK A CROWN OF HONOR IN A LAND WHERE HIS LORD WORE A CROWN OF THORNS?
Nay! How can a servant be exalted above his master? And why would a child of God seek the applause and praise of men, knowing that his Lord willingly suffered rejection and scorn of them? Would it not be a sad dishonor to the Christian if it were to be said of him that he was favored in this world?
Dream not that those in the world will someday admire you or that the holiness of God has given you, will cause them to respond or react to you peaceably or lovingly, for if the world placed no value on that great, magnificent and priceless stone, how will it ever come to prize such a little gem as you? Seek no refuge in this evil world, for your refuge is in Christ and Christ alone. It is only in Him that you will remain secure and counseled. It is only in Him that you will ever come to know true honor and fulfillment.
Seek ye no worldly crown of honor brothers and sisters, for in it you will find little solace or satisfaction. Seek only to wear Christ's robe of righteousness, and one day you will find that there is a heavenly crown -- a crown made especially for you. When you look upon this crown, it is then that you will understand how undeserving you are; it is then that you will look to see your Saviour and in your gratitude, it is then that you will cast this glorious crown at His mighty feet.

A PLACE OF REFUGE
The eternal God is our refuge
He is our abode ... He is our home;
Dear to our hearts is His holy sanctuary
For from within -- His love is shown.
When we are near to Him we fear no evil
For He is our almighty shelter and retreat;
With Him we find repose from life's conflict ...
And with love we kneel at His glorious feet.
Our hearts have come to know the deepest delight,
And songs can be heard in every gentle breeze;
For love to Him has strengthened us,
And caused our souls to dwell in peace.
GO FORTH TO MEET HIM
Who made us to differ from another?
And what have we that we did not receive?
Was it not mightily the hands of a loving Father
-- be not troubled, no, be not deceived!
Let your heart go forth to meet Him
Love Him with an inner strength;
With all your soul, rejoice in His sweet love,
And in His righteousness be content.
The Father is glorious in His holy character
Walk humbly before His face;
Give unto Him the honor due His almighty name,
And you'll be blessed in His wondrous grace.
